Back Quiver for my boy

I've had it in my mind to build a back quiver for my boy for some time, like a really long time... I had a sizeable chunk of leather sitting in a box in my shop for 15 years or more, there really has been no excuse to put one together. Well, local elections finished up here on Saturday  :knothead:, (I'm a city manager, not an elected official) so after counting ballots and getting home around 10:30 at night, I poured a double of my favourite Irish Whisky (Writer's Tears for those so inclined) and proceeded to do some layout and cutting.

I slept in a little late on Sunday morning and with the wife and kids gone until the afternoon, I sat with a cup of coffee and some Clay Hayes videos on you-tube and set about punching holes and lacing leather. I patterned the quiver off my Hill style back quiver I have had for 20 odd years. In fact, the same person I bought the quiver off gave me the hunk of leather I had been toting around all those long years. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and hope my boy gets many miles of enjoyment with it in the years to come.

I have used all manner of arrow conveyance over the course of my bowhunting career, and still use the lightweight Eagles Flight 3 arrow bow quiver for many hunts, especially if I am packing in a way, but I love hunting and roaming the woods with my Hill style back quiver. I truly believe a back quiver makes you a better still hunter. It forces you to slow down so as not to have a mass of rattling arrows behind you.
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

Excellent job with the leather work.
You're creating very fond memories for your Son, of his dad.
