And what a beautiful pig sticker it is Sir. Who ever is getting it will be very excited. A well finished knife like that is both a part of you and a reflection of you. I wish that I could swing a hammer again but probably not ever going to happen again. I do want to see the sheath when it is finished, The person will be showing it off to all of their friends as well as others. Not very many times is a knife maker that has much experience totally happy with their creation, there is always something that you feel could have been better but most won't see anything wrong at all. Looks pretty darn awesome to me.

Beautiful work, mate! Much nicer than the blue F Dicks you see everyone with down here.

There are a couple of things that I do wish I had done better but alas I'm human and don't do perfect work.  I just strive for the best that I can and learn with each piece.  The leather on this one was a simple sheath.  It's fully lined with veg tan so there is smooth leather against the blade.  I gave it a Sam Brown stud for ease of carry on such a beastly blade and stitched it up with red thread to compliment the red spacer under the guard.

I was asked for the sheath to be something simple and well made but not flashy or fancy.

Ah but simple is clean and graceful, like a good stickbow. Nothing shabby about the sheath or the combo. Leather was always a weakness for me, I was never happy with my work. You could it functioned great but not so great on looks. Yours looks mighty fine to me

Leather is a whole other set of tools and skills.  I understand why a LOT of knife makers shy away from it and just develop a relationship with a local leather worker.  The thing about it that bugs me the most is leather really needs a CLEAN shop space to work in and there is nothing clean about a knife shop.  Being in a one room shop makes me go through and have to clean everything and shut down the knife work to get a sheath done.  It's kind of disruptive but it is what it is.  I do fancier leather too sometimes like this elkskin lined crossdraw sheath with tooling...

That is an absolutely gorgeous blade. For me I would prefer a slight bit more finger guard for a pig sticker.
Keep em Sharp!
