[attachment=1,msg3002476]I want to thank everyone that took on high gas, motel and food costs to attend the 18 th Howard Hill Classic.

I also want to thank all the Vendors as well.  When a Vendor takes the time to travel to an event, any event, they're taking a huge gamble folks.  They have no idea who or how many people will be there.

Big Jim with Big Jim's Bow Co.comes from Albany, GA, Neil Byce with Bear Archery comes from Gainesville, FL,Roy Hall with Navajo Bows comes from Texas, Byron Ferguson comes from Hartselle, AL, still a drive folks.Bobby Phipps w/ Rock Pile farms, Sal, Jenette, my friend Kim Burrows and many others take this venture, NOT KNOWING if they'll make a dime.  :clapper:

Every one of these people deserve credit and your thanks for supporting events like mine.

People, there are so many great stories, humorous and some just down right hilarious that many of us witnessed.

And again, I witnessed a great deal of humility, generosity and tremendous friendships.

I am hoping those that also witnessed this, please share your stories, WE NEED THEN RIGHT NOW.

Oh, and by the way, some DARN GOOD SHOOTING!!!

I will be posting the Winners and their scores here shortly.

I even had a celebrity here, Santa, under his secret name "Big Sexy".  He already had three archers, putting in their Christmas wishes for next year.  Hopefully, they're wishing for a better year for our country and having a 19th Howard Hill Classic, 2023.

Folks, here's a little story I'd like to share from the Howard Hill Classic traditional archery event, held this past weekend here in Alabama.

Over the yeats, many bows and other items have been donated to me for my raffles.  I have used these raffles to raise money for the Boy Scout Camp I use that sits adjacent to Tannehill Historical State Park.   This year was no different.  I did a playing card raffle for a Bivouac Bow and another deck of cards for a Black Widow Bow.  I also had some packages, one was a left handed DAS Bow from Three Rivers Archery,  I sold small tickets for a dollar a piece or a stretched arms length for twenty dollars.

All of those tickets could be put into one bucket or spread to several.   NOW, his friend, his first time here, asked him why he was puttung all of his small tickets in the bucket for the DAS Bow, he wasn't left handed.  He didn't realize that.  The first young man, also, his first time here, won the Black Widow bow.   That was great because it was his birthday, PRETTY COOL.  Then, he won the left handed DAS Bow.  He immediately turned to his friend, also his birthday weekend, and said Happy Birthday, and gave him the DAS Bow.  By the way, he WAS left handed.

Over the years, I, and others, have witness such acts of generosity here at the Howard Hill Classic.  TRADITIONAL ARCHERS ARE THE BEST!!!

Let add that so far I have donated approximately $50,000.00 to this Camp, nearly $4,000.00 to The Wounded Warrior Project and $1,500 to Childern's Harbor, for Chronically Ill kids.

Thanks to all that have helped me do this.

Not to lessen the competition, Rhonda's "Luck of the Draw" Shoot Down was pretty cool in itself.  This competition is for those that didn't qualify for the main "Championship Shoot Down".  The Winners will receive their choice of a Bear Archery "Montana" longbow or a "Grizzly" recurve.  The Winners for the Women was Val Gray and the Men was Thomas Ballinger.

Both chose the "Grizzly", NOW, Rhonda certainly didn't leave the 2nd and 3rd out.  The 2nd Place got $100.00 and the 3rd Place got $50.00.  Again, I'd like to give a shout out to Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, Bear Archery, Three Rivers Archery and our friend Randy Knight for sponsoring the Shoot Downs.
