I haven't seen anything much about this shoot so far this year, but it is only a month away.  This is my personal favorite shoot, even with a 6 hour drive.  I missed it last year for work, but plan to attend this year.  It is the same location as ETAR has moved to.  Plenty of camping areas, a kitchen to feed you, and some very nice courses.

Two hours can easily be 120 miles and a few gallons of $4 gas.  Sounds like the savings is good enough reason to go.

Planning on attending! Although the camaraderie is great at both events, as far as shooting goes, I prefer STAR over ETAR all day, every day!

I haven't been to ETAR yet, but from what I've heard about crowded courses, I think I'd prefer the less busy shoot, myself.

Yes sir, ETAR can get crowded for sure. Shop n shoot at ETAR...shoot n shoot at STAR! I'll make the "slightly less than" four hour drive from western Maryland for both events as those are the two events where I get to see/eat with/shoot with/hang out with two different group of guys, one from PA, the other from the Rochester, NY area.

And might I add sir, your last name is the best..I'm particularly fond of it myself!

Maybe I'll run into you up there.  I plan to leave St. Marys county early Wednesday, be up there that afternoon, and stay til either Saturday night or Sunday.

(I say "plan" like it matters, but I also want to do some fishing on the way up or back, so who knows!)

I also have a group from Pa. that I like shooting with; they're pretty laid back, nothing is too serious, so its a nice relaxing event.

What for doghouse is that...make and model? Pretty neat looking and sized just right for an event like STAR, ETAR, etc.

Thanks,
Matt

Leaving tomorrow morning myself at "oh-dark thirty" and yes, responsible campfires are allowed. I've seen them built on the ground and inside old truck rims.

Hey Thad - It's been a few years since I've seen you. Look for my doghouse on wheels. I'm already there, but the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning isn't great, but it sure beats being at work.
