25 yards, went down in sight
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Shot one from a tree in WY at about 20, that was the longest, the others have been taken over water (2) or decoys (6) have been closer taken from blinds. I set my decoy at 12 yards angled about 45 degrees looking away and let them come in behind it.

I was fortunate enough to take arrow 4 of them back in the 1990's.  Ranged from 15 to 35 yards.  All were near water holes. 3 were taken from a windmill and 1 was from a ground blind.
