All of us have a bow, hat or piece of kit that we have had for long time.  Well, I tore through all my gear from hunting with grandson, and I cannot find my armguard.  This one was made special by a friend, who did custom Marine work to quality leather.  I was a companion on so many shoots and hunts.  I absorbed countless gallons of sweat from summer 3d shoots and froze in stand with me.  Just funny this minor thing, has become filled with so many memories, and did not know until gone, how much it meant.  So, who makes a quality armguard today?

Longrifleman

Thunderhorn makes very good armguards, IMO- they're good people, too!

I don't know who makes good ones but I bought one from Don Brown in 1970. He said you'll never have to buy another and He was right!

Ryan Rothhaar

Darren Haverstick makes some really nice ones.i don't know if he builds to sell or not, but I've seen some real fancy ones he donated to organizations.

If I wanted a sunday-go-to-meetin arm guard, or some special request I'd get ahold of him.

Thanks all.  I got one of the new 3 rivers hidden pocket ones coming to get me buy.  Figure this year as travel to shoots might find someone to make special one.

Maybe it will show up. I usually don't loose or misplace stuff but when something  has special meaning and it is not where it supposed to be it drives me nuts. My stuff shows up right where I left it most of the time. I misplaced some hunting gloves last year and found them in a hunting vest. When I found them I smiled because of the memory of the last hunt I used them on, squirrel hunt with the grandchildren. I hope you find the arm guard and it will be more valuable to you than before!

Pointed_stick

My current one is from Eagle's Flight Archery, no complaints on quality or price. Hope you find yours!

My leather arm guards have holes ripped out, eyelets broken, blood stains, some of it mine, sweat stains, I still have them. When I wear out a shooting glove, i don't know why, but I never throw them away either. However, there is this little folding knife that had field dressed a number of deer, had been on 52 wilderness canoe trip, had sliced up numerous steaks when the restaurant issued me a dull one. I think someone broke into my house, didn't care about stash of silver, didn't care about my concert guitars, didn't care about my bows, but they stole that knife. I swear, I would never misplace that knife.

Larry I know that feeling, I have a folder that been on me for over 30 years, and that will be in my pocket when I move to the next adventure, after passing.

I bought this arm guard from Mike Roberts when he own Farr West back in 2009 this arm guard and I have had a lot of adventures and I hope to have a bunch more.

Man, I love those leather armguards!  They are awesome.  They sometimes make me wish that I didn't live in Florida where it is 100% humidity and 100 degrees half the time.  I've spent my money on a fair share only to stop using them due to their impracticality in this environment.  I have one with a small damascus knife attached that I have strapped around my basket quiver as ornamentation and I get tons of comments about how cool it is.

I didn't loose, but had my Great-Great-Grandfathers stag handle Solingen steel knife leave my truck when they broke in and took my hunting pack, two bows and other stuff.  That has been 10 years and it still hurts.
