A couple weeks ago I was fortunate enough to get this cow moose while hunting with a close dear friend. We each had one of our kids in camp for this hunt which was the best part of the hunt. Unfortunately neither of those guys were around when we had packing to do, so the old guys had to get it done.

The heart shot eliminated any need for tracking as she went down in sight barely thirty yards away.

I was blessed to take this young doe in North Carolina last week with my faithful Black Widow MA. I found an oak ridge that was raining acorns and set up near the best sign. Soon after climbing the tree this doe showed up. I made a decent shot through the back of both lungs and she ran down to the bottom and piled up just out of sight. Three young bucks came through about 30 minutes later. Two of them stood in the exact spot that the doe had been in when I shot her. If they had been a little bigger I might have tried to double up. After dark, I got down and found a very bloody arrow and a good blood trail that I quickly followed to my prize. I need to get back to taking better field photos, but this is what I got.
