Did you know it has a compass in the butt and it works. I also still have the original sheath

Ron,
Love old pics! This has nothing to do w your photos, (or maybe it does). But I have a question. After years doing what you do...how do you hook the string? On tips to slip off w ease? near the tips? Medium hook like a long hold target guy? Or deep hook? I have had a year or so layoff and am back shooting. My fingers have no calluses. For some reason a more open hand w the string near the tips is working very well. I don't shoot enough to get sore fingers out there right now. Just wondering what you settled on.
Thanks,
Tedd

Tedd, I learned a lot on shooting style from my years in competitive field and target archery.

To answer your question on how I grip the string, I use a deep hook as do most target shooters. Shooting on the tips of your fingers makes it hard to relax the hand and wrist and transfer your pulling power to your back.

You said it was working well for you so I'd suggest to continue doing what your doing. If it starts not working for you then try the deep hook

A different bow season in 1964.
Note the Jone's cap, a common cap with bowhunters back then. I just bought a new one from 3Rivers

1955 was the year I started deer hunting with a bow. That's a 1953 Mercury in the street

Elizabeth Curtis, where have you been?  I remember when you first came around, and I've wondered what became of you since you seemed to really enjoy archery.
