New Transparent Ground Blinds

Has anyone bought or used one of the new transparent ground Blinds that are advertised now. I see Rhino and I think Double Bull also are advertising them as Camo on the outside outside but from the inside you can see through the material in every direction. I
was wondering if anyone knows how the material holds up and any other information you want to share. Thanks

I looked at one at a Cabelas. Sure seemed odd seeing all around me from in it. I know you can't see in but I sure felt "exposed".

I recently hunted out of a Double Bull 270 on a hog hunt and was impressed. They work just as advertised. It's very nice to be able to see animals coming in from the sides long before they got to the shooting window and they were still not able to see me move. The fabric seemed tough and thick and I think they would hold up well. The outfitter I was with leaves them out in Oklahoma. The two things I didn't like about them was the small angled zippered door. It was a squeeze for me to get through and the zipper is not silent. Also, the height was a little shorter than I like. I think they are 70" center height. I'm 6'2" and like to be able to stand up straight to stretch. I wasn't able to stand up straight but still didn't have any problem shooting my 58" Black Widow. I will definitely be buying one of these next time I buy a blind. Once patents run out I think all blinds will be made this way.

A friend of mine uses a DB 360. He says its great for visibility, but, the wind blows right through it and in real cold weather its not possible to use a heater. Probably not an issue for spring turkeys, but here in the north, I wouldn't use one in Nov or Dec.

If the wind was blowing, he got wet. In a lighter rain the netting would fill up with water and reduce visibility. But, he would tap the netting and the water would run down. He told me if he would buy another, it would be the 270.

Thanks for the replies. Not crazy about the wind blowing right through the material. I need to go some place that has one setup. My old Double Bull is starting to show a lot of wear on the outside material at the end of the rods. Last year many of the rods started snapping off in the hubs. I will say up front Double Bull sent me some new rods for replacement.

Sounds like they would be great for antelope hunting. A normal blind turns into a sauna sitting those waterholes on 90 degree days.

I thought the exact same thing Kadbow. Be like sitting in a shaded screened in porch. Just another example of why "one size fits all" doesn't.

bofish, If you're in the market for a new blind you might want to look at Xenex blinds. Similar in price to DB. I've never used one, but they get great reviews.

The Xenex blinds are very nice, I love the material, so did some mice on one corner. I suspect a grandson deposited some salty liquid in the corner from the outside when hunting with his Dad.

However, after a season hunting the Primos Surround 270 I am hooked on those. I hated the confined feeling in the window-only blind designs and avoided blinds except for turkey.

This year I used a 270 for turkey and deer. I had many of both species, plus a coyote at 4 yards in easy recurve range. I can't imagine hunting in anything else. I'd prefer the 180 but they are smaller than the 270. Birds landing in the widows, etc.
