This is what I use  for a little insurance that it does not leak when heating. It makes me feel better.

Good idea with a leak free setup.

We don't have to make up new hoses very often, but when we do:

*coat plugs wuith barge cement... sometimes :)
*clamp in concave section and one on the grooved area :)
*tighten clamps with wrench
*Put assembled hose in hot box through a couple of bow heat cycles...

I always use either silicone or gasket sealer on the plugs, then install in hose and stagger hose clamps, let set for couple of day, test and use. I have found that the heat loosens the clamps over time, so i check mine before every glue up and tighten the hose clamps, just be careful tighten the clamp as you can strip them out!
