Timberghost Recurves?

Who has one? Who's shot one? What do you think? As stable and forgiving as a widow? Similar mass weight?

i just got a 56"er off the classifieds. Seems to shoot darn good certainly not the mass weight of the widow. my only issue is the grip on mine. i apparently keep my index finger on the arrow as i start to draw and it isnt possible with the grip i have.

Excellent bow....very stable and forgving shooter...nice shooting experience...all the mass weight one would likely desire when incorporating phenolic and especially G10. The SS limbs will shoot with a Widow likely 6 to 7#s heavier.

I don't own one but I've shot a lot at Kalamazoo. I know I've said it on here before, but they have the most comfortable, well fitting grip of any recurve that I've shot. It's on my list of bows to own someday

Ive pretty much always been a straight up black widow guy. I honestly dont get along with most other bows but these seem like they could fill the bill.

Are they high braced like a widow? I dont see a brace height on the site.

The bowyer 'Kent Roberts' would be your best source.

Advanced static tipped designs incorporate lower brace heights.

I have a recurve. I love the grip and it is a great shooter. I would only buy a newer model with G 10 limbs though. Had my glass limbs just randomly crack all up and down the limbs while not even assembled. Don't know if is the built in stress of the limbs or what? Just my opinion though.

This was MY experience. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. There is no doubt Black Widows are great bows and have a huge following so I am not nocking the Black Widow in any way. I bought a new PMA and not long after that I got a TimberGhost G3SS. I immediately sold the Black Widow. The TimberGhost shot much faster and I shot it much better. To me it was also more forgiving. I think the reason is the carbon limbs on the TimberGhost are hard to twist and are just so torsionally stable and probably make up for not having a perfect release. To me it was the best of both worlds. I was more accurate with it, it was more forgiving and I believe it shoots as fast as most bows 5-6 pounds heavier due to the super curve limbs.

Etter, I have shot Kent's personal black pearl, a high performance super curve, very nice. Its G-10 riser adds mass weight. Draw cycle is different than conventional recurve with much more preload (higher weight earlier in draw) and much softer near full draw as the pounds per inch gains drops, Almost feels like let off on a compound. As mentioned very stable and shootable. It is on my to get list for sure. Not everyone likes the feel of the draw but the performance is awesome.
