The 56" PIKA is what i shoot and hunt with. Ive tried a lot of bows, but I've never found one i like near as well as a Toelke. Dan and Jared build them to fit my hand and every one I've had has been a work of art. And they shoot as good as they look. Im sure the shrews are fine bows. Im just so happy with Toelke bows I've no reason to look at anything else. Best bows on the planet.

Pick one and buy it, you will not be disappointed.
I have a 56" Pika 57lb @ 28" it shoots where I point it.

I have an older CH made by Gregg Coffey and a Pika, both great bows. Love the thumb rest grip on them. If I was buying a bow now (and I have been looking for used forever) I would get an Elkheart or Pika. I have no experience with the new shrews.

I just got a used 58" Whistler with the standard grip, thumb rest, and I am so happy with the way my hand just locks right in place on that Toelke. I do like it better than the grip on the Kota Kill-um that I parted with which is a 50's style recurve with more of a classic longbow type grip. I've never shot a shrew so I can't say anything about them but I'm really liking this Whistler. I should also note that I have a take down Whistler model with the bow bolt that Toelkes use and I like the slight bit of weight it adds to the riser.

Tough call right there. Both great bows, both Sponsors. Win win. If only you could shoot both side by side to see which one suits you best.

See if they offer a trial bow that's close to your specs. I've done that with Texas Longhorn and Morrison, years ago.

I have owned both. I used to own a 56" Pika and I now own a 52" Shrew CH II. From my experience they are very similar, it just turns out that I like the grip on the Shrew just a little bit better. I would say the Shrew has a bit more performance as I have to use a much heavier spine arrow for it versus the Pika. However the slim almost delicate limbs of the Pika make it very quiet and just fun to shoot. I'd say it's a toss up...
