Checking in. Addition is almost ready to schedule concealment inspections and then it's someone else holding the bag until siding, insulation, and drywall are done. I plan to sneak down to the shop and get a real start on the bow this weekend while the better half is busy with other things...

I like the idea of marking with string length.   Seems to be one of the great mysteries to many.

Hell Yeah...  I see people struggle with this all the time... I think it is just common sense to put the string length on there...  If they need to know the full length of the bow while it's unstrung for some reason, they could just measure it...

Got the bow to 51 at 24 inches today.  So it would be a little heavy still for Kenny.  Lol

Oh hell yes, 32 pounds at 26 inches is bout his limit...

I don't think he has a 26 inch draw without a release.

I can draw 26" behind me back!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Got couple of dry runs done yesterday, a little tweak here and there. Hopefully I will be mixing some glue today. If I can get the yard mowed.... :banghead:

A lot of good looking bows being made.  I need to step up get my trade bow glued up.

I got a set of risers glued up and a couple of weeks back then started to true them up on my thickness sander. Unfortunately, the adjusting table quit working and required a complete disassembly and rebuild.  I ordered the needed parts, rebuilt/assembled everything (several times), and finally have it adjusted and working like a new machine.

Here are a few pictures of the risers, bocate and Brazilian Rosewood, profile sanded and ready for glue up:

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Looking very nice, Walt.

I can only imagine rebuilding a drum sander:)

Monthly update time!

Gathering Materials:  2/18
Build Stage: 8/18
Shipped: 8/18
Received: 8/18

We are nearly at half of all bows shipped and received!  Well done guys.  I am also tracking one more nearly ready to ship.  Overall we are moving along nicely, and still over 30 days to go before the deadline.  Gentle reminder to all those still in the early stages of building (myself included): 33 days to deadline.  Thank you all for keeping this thing alive and moving!

I put a first coat of finish on my first swap bow candidate. It looks good and came in right on weight. I also spent a couple of hours scraping the crap out of my second candidate bow. It's quite a bit over weight, but I'm hoping to bring it down.
It's tough to do when you can only tiller from the sides.
