I'm finding a lot of my Osage is checked and split quite a bit. I made a real nice bow shaped piece of firewood yesterday. I found a horizontal split going right through the belly that didn't reveal itself completely til after I did a good bit of work.
Onto plan b.
Pretty long piece with some snake on one limb. The knot will be just above the centerline.  I've got it floor tillered so far

Some very nice stuff happening! Does this count as progress? I'm thinking about what I should build for my victim.

Mad Max

Always counts with a High ball glass

Here is the braced profile which I don't care for when the top limb is 1.5 inches longer due to making the bow asymmetrical..

And this bow is limb timed, the pull rope is tracking the line on the wall.

It makes sense though with a longer top limb.

I never get this look when making a symmetrical bow.

Symmetrical bow below.

In the first picture the left limb tip seem to be much closer to the wall than the other. That would give an exaggerated looking bend in the picture, just a thought. Or did you forget to scrape the right side. ;)
