Used up my last whitetail tag this afternoon!

I had been saving my last whitetail tag to use here at the house on a doe. With my work schedule, today was likely gonna be my last chance to do that. I couldn't hunt this morning, but was able to sneak out to a blind this afternoon. I ended up seeing about 5 does, and a couple bucks. One was a nice 8pt that I had never seen before and the other was one I named High Top because he is very narrow and very tall. I have passed up High Top a half dz times this season. Now I know he made it thru, and I really hope he stays around for next year.

Anyway, those two bucks kept most all the does way to the outside where I couldn't/wouldn't shoot. Finally, one of them made her way in to about 12yds, and I didn't waste the opportunity! The shot was true, and as I watched her run off, I knew she was done for.

I went and got my tracking dog in training Zeke, and put him on the trail. He had a tough time getting started, but once he figured out which was the right way to go, he went straight to her. She made it about 100yds from where she was shot.

Here is Zeke claiming his prize:

And here is the pic of me with Zeke's doe!  :biglaugh:

That was the last tag on my license. I may have an opportunity to hunt a few times on a place that has some special management tags, so it may or may not be over for this season just yet!

As usual, I shot her with my Primal Tech recurve, .400 spine FMJ arrows (D&M Custom Arrows), and a 150gr German Kinetic XL broadhead.

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.
