Interesting thread Flem but a little disappointed not seeing any home brew Fleam-a-Gizmos after all your the Gizmo King  :cheesy:
If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!

Flem

Yeah I know  Just a bunch of recycled crap. Call me Lamont. I do have one more installment to do. I'll try to pull out all the stops :biglaugh:

OK, I just now came across this thread.  Looks like it was started in the heart of the hunting season here, probably why I missed it.  Some very interesting information.  Looks like we are still waiting on the final installment from Flem. Don't know if that is good or bad. :dunno:
If I'd known that I would live this long I'd have taken better care of myself.

Flem

Good if you are me, bad if my posts drive you to the edge :biglaugh:
I do plan on finishing the last installment. Since I know someone is interested, I will try to focus. Problem is I get distracted easily. Decided I wanted to do some powder coating, so I had to build a gun and power source. Then I decided I need build a blasting cabinet and soup up my blaster. And it goes on and on.....

Flem, build all of that big enough so I can bring the fenders and hood from my 1954 Ford NAA Jubilee tractor over to get them blasted and powder coated. :goldtooth:

Son of a.... I wish I wouldn't have seen this thread. Now I have to go buy a new gun.

I've been doing well for over 20 years spraying Fullerplast and then Thunderbird with my $40 touch up guns, but as much as I value a fine finish, I should have a good gun. And..... I think I'm worth it  :goldtooth:

Bowjunkie spend some of that OT money:)

Bowjunkie

I go right by an API(Autobody Products, Inc) on my way home. Their website says they carry the brand I'm looking for. I'm going shopping after work.

Roy from Pa

Buy the best and only cry once:)

Ya got a PM.

Flem

Royce, were going to need a cutting torch to get your parts in my converted toaster oven :cheesy:

Damn! I'm jealous, Jeff. Wish I had a store like that nearby. I know exactly what gun I would buy.
What do you have in mind?

Bowjunkie

I like what I'm hearing about the Iwata LPH-80. Which do you like?

Flem

You would be hard pressed to do much better than that Iwata mini

I am thinking about another full size for some future projects. The DeVilbiss Prolite with 2 aircap/needles and 3 tip package is calling my name.

Bowjunkie

I just left the store. Didn't happen today. They don't keep them in stock, and they want quite a bit more than some of the online prices I saw.

Roy from Pa

Did you try the big auction site?

Best price was $272.00

Bowjunkie

Yep, I saw that. Close but not the exact one I want. It's there though, tempting me.

Roy from Pa

Ya gots time..

Keep looking..

Flem

Apparently there are a lot of knock-offs, especially on the high end guns. If a price seems too good, it would be worth making sure the seller has a good return policy.

I buy my paint/finish in a can with the spray gun built in. No mixing and when done I just throw the can and sprayer away.

I'm going to quote myself, again :knothead:

"I'm not going to go into rattle cans or Preval. Nothing wrong with them, just not the level of finishing we are trying to achieve."
