What poundage do you shoot with your Rabbit hunting bows?
Also do you favor a longbow or recurve?
How far is your average shot?
How far is your longest shot?
How many arrows do you carry?

Pine

Poundage: whatever you are comfortable with.
Bow: same thing, a longbow usually works just fine because the shots are standing up.
How many arrows: well, the more arrows you have with you, the less likely you will search harder for lost ones.
But an old timer trick, use an old school hand wind bow fishing reel with about 20-30 feet of braided fishing line.
Don't tie it to the reel but just wrap it tight and you will be able to find your arrow no mater what it buries under.

Same bow I deer hunt with usually use a judo point but have lost a few.  I now use a big broadhead.  Helps to have a hunting partner.

I use the same bow for everything, hunting big game, small game or 3D.

I hunt wabbits with whatever my current big game / 3D bow is. I often combine hunting small game, roving and scouting ergo I want my target points, blunts & broadheads to all fly the same.  Great fun & great practice. Good exercise, too.
As far as distance goes........... If the shot can be made safely I'll launch to 100 yards at jacks. And yeah, I carry a lot of arrows.

One gizmo that I do carry is a rangefinder that I usually use after I shoot to check my range estimation.

Use whatever bow you like and are proficient with. Normally if I'm really going deep for em in the pickers I use a bow that's already cosmetically blemished.  Then I dont feel bad throwing it over the berry brush that's impossible to get through.  Also I prefer a longbow as I feel it doesn't get snagged quite as easily.

Any weight bow will do for rabbits if you can hit them.  I use my normal hunting weight bows, just because that's what I am shooting at the time.  Here's a group of SE Iowa rabbit hunters for TG.

Whichever bow jumps out at me at the time!! Mainly whichever one I am shooting the best for deer hunting at that time!

Sam McMichael

I have done little rabbit hunting but have used the same rig I used for deer hunting.
