Carbon Arrow Cresting/ Cap Dip Questions

Hey guys, my grandpa recently gave me some of his old archery equipment, and I got to thinking it would be really cool to use his old arrow cresting configuration. I have a couple issues with this though. He shot full length red painted arrows, and I really have to shoot carbon's because of my 32" draw length. This leads me to a couple questions:

1. how durable would a full length paint dip be with carbon arrows?
2. how much weight would it add to the arrow?
3. If I modified it to just a 10"-12" cap dip with cresting, would that have an effect on my arrow tune? I have a great setup, but it's barely weak enough as is, and I'm running out of setup adjustments to weaken arrows any further without adding point weight.

I personally have not seen any full length dipped carbon arrows. It does have to add some weight, how much I don't know off hand. Then of course it adds to the whole shaft not just the rear end like cap dipping. I do know a 7" wrap weights 7 grains.
  As for durability it should be as durable as painting an aluminum if you use compatible paint. These days that seems to be the newer water based products like True North sells. Bohning has waterbased paints as well listed on their website. True North has a site as well. Maybe you could ask him, seems like he would know.
