Aldo and I arrived at Kenny's last night, graciously Kenny told us to hunt Friday morning, as the weather should be good. Aldo and I were in our stands at 5:45am,
Things were slow until 8am , when a heavy body , high 3pt along with 7 does and fawns passed in front of me at 5 yards. At about 8:30, I looked behind me and there stood a beautiful 8pt, chocolate antlers, about 20" wide, never heard him, he was about 18 yards looking out into the field, he never presented a shoot and walked off into the field. A few minutes later I had 4 does pass by a 10 yards. At 9:10 I had a giant of a buck , one of the biggest I have ever seen, come through at 60 yards, grunted at him, he looked and kept walking. At 10:00 had 3 does come buy at 10/12 yards. What a great morning

Got into the evening stand at about 3:45, a short time later 5 hen turkeys came by, about 5:45 a lone doe walked by and about 6:30 a doe and her fawn stopped by to visit, that was it for the evening. One of the best things for me about the lease is the owls calling back and forth in the mornings and evening, that's worth the trip alone. We'll see what happens in the morning.

What stand were you on first morning?   Our group had shots out of 6 of the 8 stands and we didn't really hunt the other 2.

Dan, north farm, # 1, I've seen a nice buck out of that stand the past 3 years.

One of our guys saw him first night walking along the creek.  Or another one but he said he was a really big buck with a real nice rack.

As forecast and the reason I told them they could start the hunt a day early since they were already here, the weather has hampered the deer movement part of this week.  Still nice in mornings but a bit warm in evenings til sundown.  Still seeing deer but not the ones they want to...

Aldo saw a good one and moved his stand to the trail he was on yesterday so ...

Returned from Kenny's, another great week, saw two really nice bucks, passed on 13 shoots at bucks and does at 15 yards or less. If your looking to shoot a big buck this is place, if your looking to shoot a legal buck and/are does, this is the place.if you ever get the chance to hunt Kenny's lease, I suggest you do so. Kenny is a great host and goes out of his way to make this an enjoyable hunt. The cabin is great, I look forward to returning next year, I wish the next group of hunters the best of luck and as always, Thank You Kenny

Well Ray said it all really.  The buck I saw on Wednesday evening never showed up again.  Passed 8 or so shots myself on does and small bucks.  Great week, even though it was a bit on the hot side, as Ray said, at least it didn't rain.  I really enjoy being there, starts my season off well.  Kenny does a great job, always enjoyable to come in after the hunt and sit and talk with him for a bit.  Unfortunate we didn't connect this time but that doesn't mean it wasn't a success.  Learned more this time and will apply it next year when we return.  Good Luck to the next group, be sure to post photos.

Thank you two gentlemen!!  Already looking forward to next year, may the weather be more in your favor next time.

The big dudes don't have to move much from cover right now with the warm weather and food falling all around them.

Hoping you are shivering next year. :)
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Time in the Missouri woods is always an enjoyable experience.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.
