The National Wild Turkey Federation head quarters is in Edgefield the town just above Aiken.  I was asked about a week ago to donate a knife for their auction.  I said NO...but I'd try to forge a small neck knife using a turkey femur as I know there are a lot of turkey hunter here.  The knife brought in $300 for NWTF and I've never done a knife from a bird bone before!  I spent the last few days boiling turkey bones.  Here is my start with a turkey femur overlaying a couple of my small knives to give the high bidder something to think about and choose their style of knife.  What do y'all think?  tippit

PS: Next time I'm going to ask for the turkey leg with meat still on the bone...that way I'll at least get some dinner :saywhat:

I like the second one the best of the two.  Balance looks better to my eyes.

Both look good to me, but for a neck knife I would go with the smaller blade.  Neat stuff !!

All your knives look fantastic Jeff.  I agree with Ron on this statement.

The high bidder choose the shorter blade. I think it's a good choice given that the turkey bone is so much thinner than a deer or bear bone.

Both look great jeff. For a neck knife Ron is probably right but I think I'd be honored to give either a try. High bidder is a lucky dude

Interesting.  Will the bone be filled with epoxy of some sort to give it more strength? :coffee:

Might look cool with a limbhanger sized spur coming off of the back of the knife.
