Hand forged from 5160 high carbon steel. Triple thermal cycled, oil quenched, and tempered to a desired hardness. 4.5 inch blade 9 inches overall 5.5mm spine. Scales are made from American Oak secured with two brass pins and reinforced with epoxy. Comes with a hand made leather sheath.

I like this Kephart style blade, a good all around knife.

And..... another;  I like true forged blades.  #1 Jim Rubley, 12.5 overall, 7.75 blade.  He made the file and then made the blade.  This knife, he felt, would fit the true Longhunter period and was made as a true decorative smith would have made high end carving/kitchen ware for the elite of perhaps the Charleston or Virginia area:

On to another Rubley.  #2 This one is more privative like a backwoods smith might make;  He beat a bit more carbon into the blade so it looks a bit rough but it will make haste of a critter.  14" over all, 9" blade, so sharp its dangerous.  Sheaths for both these knives custom made by friends and they make an AMM members eyes pop out.

This one made by Tejas friend a dear AMM Brother Tangelfoot Berry.  It is not forged but it is a killer knife. Its made from a truck spring and is as battle worthy as any I own.  It is surely, in use, a perfect Buckskinners delight.  14" overall, with a 9" blade and a heavy fighting hilt.  Its rather a Bowie pattern with some refinements.  Foot also made the sheath that is also a piece of art.

Ron:  I think Rubley was at Friendship after you no longer attended.

Ya all enjoy......  I know I d.

This is the matching utility knife/skinner to the pig sticker.  Blade 5 1/4" a cleaning and skinning delight.  Same ironwood burl handle material.
