Interesting, never heard of throwing them in a pond.  I usually bury them for 6-9 months.

It should make a fine Euro mount.  The truth is if you can't get them bleached out nice you can always spray paint them and once up on the wall they'll look as good as any.

Terry, I kept it for sure!

It was pretty stinky so I didn't want to boil it out.  so a stake and a rope and it went in the pond for cleaning.

I did one like it a few years back and the critters cleaned it up good, it was kind of brown stained but I think you could boil it later with a little dish soap and use some peroxide and it would be nice...

If it doesn't clean up well, go to the craft store and get some white chalk paint and paint it. I have a couple that were done that way, and they look superb!!!!

Peroxide will do wonders.  Just be sure to rinse it well
