They get the superlam, a .001 taper with wedge built into both ends. The wedge is about 12" one each end to get out past the riser, and you cut part of it off on the tip end so this 58" has about 6.5" wedge in it and longer bows have more at tips

...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......

Ok , 2 lb over after trapping the back. Final sanding will get at least one of em so may be one over. It should make him happy.

Looking great Kenny!  What numbers you get out of chrono on this one?

kennym

This one did 178 with a
531 grn arrow ,
49.14 lb at 28" draw
10.81 gpp .

I noticed the arrow tailed way right into the target, and hadn't finished the sight window, it will do better after I worked on that. (with that arrow anyway)

He draws 29" so that will help it too.

That is pretty snappy!  He will love it I bet.

kennym

Little late to the party on the trapping topic but my testing results are trapping the back has more effect than the belly. Trapping the back allowed me to lose between 5-10lbs (depending on the degree of trap) but not lose much if any performance so in essence made the bow a lot more efficient. So I made it part of my design. Overbuild the bow by 10 lbs, trap down to weight.

kennym

That's kinda my theory too but haven't tested it at all.
