This is what happens when you are looking for a doe...

Was surrounded by does and small bucks while waiting for a good one all year. I feel your pain.

When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Yes...a common occurrences for one of my hunters....He has shot a buck in velvet five consecutive seasons. He still hunts hard thru the end of season.

I know the feeling as well.  Our doe season closes the Sunday after Thanksgiving and about 4 days after the close I had 4 does walk into my set at 8-10 yds. and fed for about 10 minutes.  Had multiple shot opportunities at them but alas...I had to pass.

That usually happens to me when I'm hunting an area that requires a doe or spike first.
