I made a tillering tree for a guy I gave a hickory stave to, he stalled out on his first bow, hopefully the tree will get him going again.

Today longcruise layed up his very first bow. :)

I been looking at all the pitchers you guys post here.  Some Monterey guy had some that I used as a bad example which was a big help!  :)

What ya got there, LongMike? Looks like Cherry from here.
I love that you do all your layups outside  I would be afraid of skeeters in the ointment.
Speaking of Skeeter, where are you?

Longcruise

It's an ASL 68" with some reflex in an arc.  Green back and gray belly with charcoal spectra ply riser.  No cherry,  just good ol maple cores. This one gave me a scare cause my topless set up busted a peg just under the riser.  The cord is wrapped over itself so many times that for the most part it still held but pressure fell to 25# at about hour #2 or so.  I aired it back up and waited it out.   All is good! :) Tip overlays curing now.  I'll do a few pics when it's looking like a bow.

No skeeters but i start my lay ups early before it gets too hot.  Hit 99 yesterday bit was about 70 during this project.   I  do almost everything outside cause my inside is a 5 X 10 alcove in the garage! :)

I'm in Colorado a ways NW of Denver.  We are a pocket of sanity between Denver and Boulder.  :)

There is some nice country around you, Mike. Lots of recreating folks too!
Been there a couple of times to play in Eldorado canyon and drink beer in Boulder. Don't think I have ever been in a town with so many brew pubs :bigsmyl:

That Maple looks dark in the pic. Makes an awesome ASL

I am still suffering the after math projects of a move that turned... cantankerous shall we say  :banghead:. One project after another and none of them the ones I would like to be doing. I have a boat load of veneers I have cut just waiting to be used, just no time for them right now.

But I am now in a 30x50 shop on 7 acres, so once I get to building I have lots of room to bury arrows for my mower to find.
Skeater who?

Yeah, the recreating is amped way up during the pandemic.  Then there's a whole lot of people who got nowhere to go but are tucked away in out of the way  places in the mountains.  There's a 14 day max per location in the NF but they seem to be leaving them alone.

I spent the last couple weekends making a bed. Today finally resumed making dust in the shop.
Trying my hand at a first 3 piece.
