Where can a guy go to hunt javalina or pigs near San Antonio? Will be there for work the month of February with every weekend off. Would like to hunt public land, but I hear that is tough in Texas.

Terry Green

What does 'near' mean?

I know of a guy that runs a great operation but hes 2 hours away from San Antonio.

2 hours is well within the range I was thinking. Any info would be appreciated.

Try the Lincoln Ranch 2 to 2 half  hours west of S.A. don't go to the ones close like in Sabinal they are over hunted your chances of shooting something there are slim .  I know 2 groups of friends that go to the Lincoln ranch every year and seem to always shoot some hogs and javies . They bait good and have lights up .

Thanks for the info on the Lincoln Ranch, Tim. I appreciate your response. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I would be a good fit for that style hunting. Was really hoping to find a place to spot & stalk or still hunt.

Call Jerry at Padernal Bowhunts.

He ran numerous Texas sweats and the moderator melt  and I  highly recommend him   Highly !!!  Animals amuck. $150 a day...stalking is all we did except a few hunters.

If you are not familiar with S Tejas brush country you may be surprised at how thick it is. It's so thick.... that is why they "chum" the roads   To get the animals out in the open.

Just a comment.
