Hung a stand today on a travel route to an unpicked beanfield they are liking very well.  Saw 7 does on the way back to house so decided to hunt it tomorrow instead of tonite since they were on their feet already.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Was about to loose an arrow this afternoon then realized it was a four point.
Identifying small racks is not always easily discerned when viewed thru mesh in lower light conditions.

Perhaps there will be some fine action tomorrow afternoon.

Still giving it a whirl here in northern Illinois. Will be off though until this coming Friday.....Christmas and family calls. Then at it again until January 2nd when my wife and I head down to Mexico for a week of Coues' deer hunting.  Happy Holidays.

Will be in the blind before daylight tomorrow morning to catch them coming back from the fields.

Still at it here. Wishing I hadnt passed up so many in October.  I'd even sling an arrow at a doe.

Never give up!! I sat in a fencerow tonite and had over a dozen within easy shooting range. We have meat in the freezer so was hoping to see a good buck.

Best one was an ear width 7 that needs a year. He was about 20 yds.

I was on ground testing a Sapper kill suit I bought after seeing a discussion on here. Set up between 2 osage trees about 6 ' apart, nothing out front to speak of and only buckbrush and a pasture behind.

Some big nannies came by and one looked me over and took a step to me but then went on.  Right before dark a smaller 8 was hazing a little doe , she came by at a fast walk 5' in front of me and the buck stopped 12' from me and nibbled on stuff. I turned my head a little to check out a noise and he head bobbed me twice and went back to nibbling stuff.

I don't remember who recommended that sapper suit but thank you!! I think with some proper back cover and a tree or two in fromt for drawing it will be awesome!!

Kenny, does that Sapper Kill Suit have a zipper closure or pullover? I'm having real difficulty getting in to my pullover ghillie. Need a zipper closure. Thanks

It has snaps so I leave bottom couple undone to keep it out of the way of bowstring when sitting.  did some trimming on bow arm and chest on that side. Netting of jacket is camo under so still looks fine...

I sat a stand for the first time Saturday morning.  No wind, well I thought.  What little wind was swirling.  I was in the bottom draw of my place about 50 yards from my food plot.  Got busted by 4 doe.  Couldn't have seen me.  Had to have caught my scent.  I'm still after em.

Missed another coyote Saturday afternoon. No deer.
Heard one deer walking in the crunchy ice-snow this morning. Didn't see it.
8 more days, hope to get out on five of them.

Yep no pants , plenty long cuz I'm short . Goes below knees on me. I bought the desert camo so it wouldn't be too dark . Wish I could see the woodland in person...

Me too. I'm in a stand right now. Been seeing a lot of does and the same 4 little bucks.

So last night I had a doe and dawn come in. She was pretty jumpy and when she finally gave me a chance she ducked my arrow. That doesn't happen very often for me. She still hung around for a while though but when she finally took off she took the 6 more deer that were coming toward me with her. Quite a bit later I'm seeing some more deer headed my way. They end up finally working in to right in front of me. But I'm really after a doe after killing a nice buck early. This is what happens when you don't want to shoot.

Our season ends on December 31. I got a small buck on October 24 and had to shoot a doe in order to take another buck. Couldn't get in range until last evening. Took a young doe. Now I can hunt the bucks I've Been having to pass on!
