Watching Dorian approaching with reports of well over 12" rain expected in some areas. Where I live of course.
Also reports stating that many areas of Florida are
well over average already. May have to pull out my chest waders to hunt areas near me on the St. Johns.
As if skeeters aren't already bad enough.

my son put this guy down opening day with a Mathews his first bow kill and he self filmed it . I got to float him out a ways which was nice. I have seen a few bucks but no shooters and a bunch of does but it's buck only down here 10 inch or 3 points on one side .

185mph as of 2:30 today. The strongest hurricane in the Atlantic Basin since 1935. This storm, even when it turns north will still adversely affect the east coast of Florida and up the coast to NC's Outer Banks. It is a perfect hurricane from the point of view of meteorology but scary as hell from a human point of view.

I feel you. I was supposed to go scouting this weekend, but with most gas stations out of gas, I'll save what I have. I am on the North-Central area, if you are on the St. John you are going to have it worst than we do.

This one should have a woman's name. It van't seem to make up it's mind when or where it wants to go.
Initially headed straight towards Canaveral where I live. Evacuation recommended. Then maybe shooting straight west over So. Florida, then turning north and staying away from landfall in Florida. Evac lifted.
Now....maybe swinging back west to hit all the coastal counties. Evac back on.

Fortunately I have friend who lives just across the barrier islands on the mainland so I don't have to go to Orlando.
Time will tell.

I hope no one tries to ride it out. It's not worth it and if it does hit there is nothing you can do about it. Lots of folks have died trying to save their property. If it misses, all you've lost is a little time and some gas and food money.
I grew up in Savannah and lived in Coastal SC. Hurricane Hugo missed the Bluffton/Hilton Head area by resting in the Gulf Stream for a while and mover 1 degree north and slammed into Charleston. We evacuated and headed for higher ground then went to Charleston the next day to bring food and supplies to a friend in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The damage we saw as we traveled Hwy 17 to Charleston was amazing and in Charleston and the surrounding area was devastating.

Looking much better for us now.
Was thinking I might have to carry a PFD for our swampy east side marshland woods.
But ain't over yet as we are still on the early side of peak storm season. AND there is more stuff brewing out there.
