Ancient sinker cypress for bow veneers?

When building our home, we pulled out some ancient cypress logs from the river. These are not some logs lost by loggers 100 years ago, these were uncovered by bank erosion and are many thousands of years old. What are y'alls thoughts on this for bow veneers? The wood is very solid, much harder that regular cypress.

I've used ERC and spalted hackberry as thin (.020") veneers without a problem. I think if you keep them thin they will work.  Saw some up and show us what they look like!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Don't have to saw any up. It was sawed about 5 years ago. Most of the interior of my home is made from it. I'll post some pics when I re learn how! Don't suppose posting pics got easier while I was away?

Actually Terry and Co. made posting pictures here easier than about any other site on the inter webs. Directions above.

That's great news! Terry has always been a class act!

Luthiers all say that Spanish cypress is their favorite wood for backs and sides of concert level classical guitars.  US cypress probably has many of the same stable qualities.  I played a very old cypress spruce top guitar a few years back that was for sale, not a flamenco, for about an hour.  $32,000, 'if i were a rich man'.

Would be interested in seeing it. As a veneer it should be fine. Saw a Blackwidow that had bog oak wood veneers and woolly mammoth ivory on it....was beautiful and added an interesting history to it.

Thanks for the input. I'll post some pics of my cabinets which are made from it in a day or two.

My Kitchen cabinets are made of cypress from an old house that was torn down.
