Is there any reason not to use CA glue for limb tip overlays?

My buddy just mentioned on another forum that CA shows up when you spray your finish coat on where as ea40 does not...  I could not tell you about adhesion...

On fiberglass bows

Lots of guys use ca for tip over lays.

But I use smooth on EA-40 epoxy.

Nothing wrong with super glue other than it's hard to sand a joint that doesn't show up sometimes especially on black glass.
I almost always use 2 layers of g10 then a decorative layer.
I sometimes use ea-40 on the first layer then when it cures I'll  add the other layers with super glue. This helps keep things from slipping around so much with multiple layers and ea-40 and I still get the benefit of ea-40 glue joint for fading in the overlay.
I've been meaning to make a jig to pre-glue my layers first but there never seems to be enough time

I think the blue top gorilla sands a bit better than the thinner stuff, but not as well as EA40

I have found the key to using CA is pre shaping and getting the fade feathered out before gluing. then when you glue it wipe the excess off and hit it with accelerator. I glue my pieces together and have a profile jig to shape the fade then sand the ramp to 120 grit before hand.

no amount of sanding will fix an ill fitting joint---

I've neve had a problem with EA40 tip overlays, had issues with one tip on three different bows using CA.  Have used E40 for the last 50-60 bows without any problem.

Give you one guess what my. recommendation is.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
