On March 17, St Patrick's Day my nephew Daniel's name was picked to win the longbow provided by Mike at Maddog Archery and the team of Tradgang members who help sponsor this great program of getting bows into the hands of young boys and girls to jump start them in this great sport.
Because Daniel and his younger sister Catherine are close in everything they do together I bought another bow w/ pink built into the riser for her.
They were completely estatic when I pulled them out and handed each to them.
Mike did a fantastic job with them.   :notworthy:
During dinner before we went to shoot in my yard I taught them my 5 rules for shooting a bow.
Rule # 1- Never ever point or aim the bow and or arrow at anyone.
Rule # 2- Never ever point or aim the bow and or arrow at anyone.
Rule # 3- Never ever point or aim the bow and or arrow at anyone.
Rule # 4- Always handle the bow and arrow with respect and in a safe way.
Rule # 5- Have fun....
It was funny every time I ask what rule # 1 or 2 or 3 was they would giggle and say the same as the others one.

Again a big thank you to Mike at Maddog for the beautiful bows he built and to all of Tradgang who sponsored and provided the items for the give away.   :clapper:

Very cool! Some of the best days of my life were enjoying my kids starts(firsts). Shooting a bow was def one of em.
I'd take balloons and blow em up big. They get a big thrill when they pop. When that wears off I'd put powder in the balloon so it "explodes". Wait til they go shoot 3D down the road. It's really cool having em come along and be the stars of the show in a sense. Everyone made a big deal out of my girls when they were little. . They ate it up.
Remember basic form is key even with beginners
