Hi guys.
Quick question- in there any benefit for using a feather arrow rest instead of, say, a leather/velcro/hair rest?

High on Archery.

They hold the arrow above the shelf. For me, that's not a plus.

i worry about the longevity, and issues in wet weather- we live in a temperate rain forest up here.
like Pat i also dont like the fact that it would elevate the arrow- which would lead to it playing heck with my tiller.
having said all that- i have never used one, so maybe i am missing out on a great system :)

Any benefits for any of the other kinds of rests?!

Hmm, I had never heard of this style of rest before. I did google it and seen pics. It does look neat. Now I wonder if you glued one feather at an angle, so the arrow rests on the top portion and maybe one trimmed short on the side to create a shelf and window.

Just something that was trendy back in the day.

I've used them on bows I've built, I thought they were kinda cool and worked ok for me.

I used to use the velcro dots but switched to the sticky felt dots that are made for scratchless furniture legs they work great for me I tiller and tune my bows for them !
If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!
