I got a chance to hunt Iowa for 21 days this fall. I kept my video camera rolling from stand while passing up many deer. That is the great thing about this sport, we have the freedom to shoot when the time is right. Since I can still hunt Illinois this season, I wanted to try for a mature buck in Iowa. I did not get at chance at the big guys, but the process aloud me many close encounters. The following photos are stills from some of the video. Mike

Lots of young fawns. Late breeders from last season.

Very cold weather in early November this year. Coyotes were chasing quite a bit. When fawns are alone during the mating season, they become vulnerable.

On the way home I hunted my Illinois property and squeaked in a coyote.  Mike

You did not get a picture of the one that I have been after.  You must have been hunting in a deer rich area, I do not.  A guy gets kind of fussy about what is and is not a good shot when they get real big.  The old should or should not question has saved him, so far.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, and well done on the coyote.
