I am looking for suggestions on a book or dvd on bowhunting for deer. Not a story on hunts and harvests but something that talks about scouting, deer movement, stand placement , reading sign etc. Thanks Steve

Whitetail magic and In pursuit of trophy whitetails by Roger Rothhaar if you can find them.

"Mapping Trophy Bucks" by Brad Herndon is exactly what you are looking for. "Tree Stand Hunting" by Paul Brunner, "Real World Whitetail Icons...In Their Own Words" and "Hunting Trophy Whitetails in the Real World" by Don Higgins and of course "Hunting Rutting Whitetails" by Gene Wensel are all required reading, as well as the above mentioned titles.

I would say Come November if your hunting private land and undisturbed Deer...if public land I would say anything by John or Chris Eberhart..hunting pressured Deer.

I have read or watched a bunch and learned something from most. I think for my style of hunting (public land) the Eberhart videos are hard to beat.
