Just curious how meany people use a horse bow for hunting ? How do you have it set up ? Pics if you have them ? What kind of speed are you getting ?

I have hunted with Salukis..These were fiberglass bows.I had a Great northern adjustable quiver on them. They are very high performance bows and have a very smooth draw. They are beautiful bows and have attractive aesthetics.I think they require good from to have consistant accuracy.I shot them with fingers. Not a thumb ring.I like them alot

Lots of folks use short fast bows to hunt here, just not necessarily Asiatic style (better term than horsebow).
Asiatic bows are fun and very fast, but not as popular as the reflexed riser and siyahs are not as user friendly to average Joe.  You can probably get 99% of the performance from a short static recurve with a deflexed riser, so in the end it comes down to personal preference.  I've owned several Salukis and a Hwarang and while fun and effective in their own right I'd take something like a 54" Shrew or Javaman Helms Deep or short Centaur 9 times out of 10 to go into the woods with.

I killed my first CO elk with a saluki.  I shot 650 grain arrows with 350 up front.  It was 58 at 28.  I have also used my Salukis in 3D.  Won a couple of shoots with them.  I have a tiny scythian that pulls 54 at 28 that is perhaps my favorite blind weapon.  My only complaint is that I found them hard to silence.  I do love the letoff feel.  I have a lot of fun with new shooters when they draw one for the first time.

I used one afew seasons ago and filled my doe tags with it. I got a deal on one off eBay and glued a flipper rest on the sucker. Worked great, looked a bit odd and wasn't a tack driver but for a hunting rig have no complaints.
