What is there besides the tuffhead? I have an arrow setup that will be tuned for a 300gr head and while I plan on using the tuffhead I was just wondering what else was available.

Hey Clint

I've used a 235 grain Grizzly and a 75 grain Woody Weight (for 310 grains) very sucessfully. Might be worth a look.

Best
Lex
Good hunting to you all.
May the wind be your friend, and may your arrows fly true,
Most of all, may the appreciation and the gratitude of what we do keep us humble......

looks like tuffhead is it without having to resort to intermediate adapters/inserts.  the bishops are screw in and are ridiculously priced. VPA is screw in too.

The bishop is still only as strong as the shank. Though for the price they must be valyrian steel.
My custom adapter eliminates the shank from the system. Check out my latest post on the water buff setup on the dangerous game forum for my arrow specs. Just doing some fine tuning at the moment.

Clint if your building carbon arrows, these might be of interest....

Thanks for the link.
However, since I'm using axis arrows, that adapter doesn't offer any strength advantage over a standard screw in BH since the internal diameter of the axis is the same as the shank of a screw in.

My adapter looks the same only the diameter is the same as the outside of the axis arrow behind the taper. This section is 3/4" long. Then it steps down to the inside diameter of the shaft. A 2020 footing goes over the whole lot to BOP. Adapter weight can be varied by trimming the length of the shank that goes inside the shaft.

I use a 190gr glue on Cutthroat with a 100gr steel adapter, with glue I'm right around 295gr.

Woody Weights are way to go. Just take you favorite Ace BH and put a the weight you need to get to 300grns.

Valyrian steel you weren't kidding.
I was just on the Bishop site for the first time.  Is that supposed to be comedy?
