It's that time of year again.  Our NY early bow season opens next week, finally after waiting all summer.  Please post about how your season is going, and any pics would be great!  Good luck to all the NY bowhunters, and please remember to be safe.  Wear that safety harness when you're in a tree   :archer2: :archer2: :archer2:

Hey ronp, if you get a chance to hunt the north country think of me. :campfire: One of the things I'll miss living in Georgia. I will find some hunting ground shortly. :archer:

A little later down here - but good luck to you guys (and gels).

I moved my main stand that was a chain on and pretty much grown into the tree.  Swapped it for a ladder stand that's a little easier to get in and out of.  Hope to do some still hunting as well.

Saw a pair of bucks standing alongside my road this morning on the way to work just 1/2 mile from home.  Three antlerless as well.

As far as I know one of the "big guys" the neighbors and I were watching made it through last fall.  He should be a real bruiser this year.

That gets some of the cobwebs moving in the brain.  Time to sharpen the broadheads!

Forces are conspiring against me to keep me out of the woods on the opener... but I will be in soon!

Dang!  I was hoping to get over to the Moose River Plains in the Adirondack Mts. for the opener next Thursday, but it looks like I have to work. :banghead:

Oh well, I am sure lucky to have a job here in central NY!  :archer2:

Did a bit of scouting yesterday. Saw a decent amount of deer and plenty of sign. I also practiced shooting from a stand the first time since last season. My shots were more accurate than I was expecting them to be. The opener is in 10 more days and I'm feeling confident.

Was lucky enough to take a 8 point on the second day of the northern tier season. 12 yard shot 70 yard recovery. Good luck to everyone this season.

Congrats Rick!

Good luck to all my fellow NY'ers. Sure hope the temps drop soon . It's gonna be 75 degrees opening day afternoon. Thankfully the morning will be a bit cooler.
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Good luck to everyone.
I'll be missing opener for 1st time in 15+ years.
