I am looking for a pop up blind that is a bit taller so I can use my self bow out of it. Anything out there worth looking at and if anyone has had some experience with them that would be good info also.

Josh H

I've personally used the Barronett Grounder 350 Hunting Blind.

Set-up size: 90" x 90"
Footprint: 70" x 70"
Overall height: 80"
Overall weight: 19 lbs.

It's plenty of room for 2-3 people.

I sit comfortably in a chair--shoot at 62" bow and never have to worry about hitting the top.

Good luck in your search.

Josh

I'll second the Grounder 350. I can easily shoot a 68" longbow in them. Tall enough to stand up and stretch a little too.

I really like the Barronett BigMike. Tons of room for any length bow

I just ordered my Big Mike blind yesterday. I hunted out of one last turkey season. Loved it, tons of room for bow clearance .

Why do blinds need a roof?

Makes it darker inside so can get away with a little movement
Protection with a light rain
Better scent control

Love the big barronett blinds for semi-permanent setups.
shoot straight shoot often

Without a roof it is like a spot light is shining on you inside the blind.

And if Kenny can fit in one, you know it's tall enough.....

I put a couple of blocks of wood under the back part of my pop up blind, elevated the rear about a foot.  It gave me enough room to shoot my 64" longbow, and the shooting window wasn't affected much.  That being said, I put it in a location was there was no shot to the back, only heavy brush.

Hidden Hunter are great blinds and you wont go wrong with one.  I also like the Barronett blind but the model I like is the Big Cat big and roomy like the big Mike but the windows are set a bit lower on the blind

Good to know, that's the one thing I didn't like - the high window. TNX for the info

I don't remember the name of mine, and it's set up where the deer can get used to seeing it before Oct. 1, but I got it from Chad Weaver the string maker, LBR on TradGang. It's plenty big enough for me and my bows, with a high ceiling and good windows. Room for a partner, too.
