This past Saturday, longtime NYB member, and one of the kindest, most gentle souls I have ever met, Larry Hildebrandt passed away after a long fought battle with cancer.  Larry was a great man, always quick with a plethora of jokes or to lend a hand.  But mostly, Larry was ever present at the Region 8 Youth Camps that NYB sponsored.  Since 1994, Larry only missed 2 camps, once when he was in for a surgery, and last Saturday's on the day he passed.  I do not know how many 100's of young people Larry had helped become bowhunters, but our brethren is much better off because of his involvement.

He made the trip to our Annual Banquet this past May, and that was the last time I saw him.  He manned one of our game booths, and dished out plenty of jokes.  May God rest his soul.

Next time you are at full draw, please shoot an arrow for Larry.

Nice Eulogy for what sounds like a fine, fine emissary for our sport!

Prayers for his family and friend to know God's own Peace that surpasses human understanding.
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

July 27th's full moon was perfect to arch an arrow for Larry. It was a Blood Moon and also the July 27th moon was the Buck Moon. The moon was full over the Cascade Mountains and I arched Larry's arrow toward the full moon and right at Mount Rainier. I shot the cedar arrow out of my Fred Anderson Hyak longbow. The Hyak ski area is in the Cascades and I have seen many an elk just southeast of there.

So long as the new Moon returns in heaven, a bent beautiful bow, so long will the fascination of archery keep hold of the hearts of men.

Rest in Peace Larry Hildebrandt

It is always sad to lose a great man, especially one so dedicated to developing our youths. God rest his soul and comfort friends and family.
