Ok you probably figured it out by now ,I dont have much of a life, I play with bows and related items every available hour 😉 But lately I have been tunning the arrow rest and playing with arrow rest apex and it seems I can get better arrow flight by adjusting it , I found these little flatter pads at the big box store that you can easely adjust & move and they detour  little from the looks of your bow & there dead silent when pulling the arrow ![attachment=1][attachment=2][attachment=3]

What a great idea!  I never even thought of it.

As Roy would say
"I guess it's ok "
One tip
The highest part of the arrow SHELF needs to be just to the right of the felt dots
(It needs to be in line with the deepest part of the grip)
I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means

Thanks Mark this is my first shelfed bow I have made in years usually shoot off the knuckle so the next one I'm making the shelf different , live and learn , tested out these pads yesterday they work real nice , I waxed them and took a burnishing tool to them they so they don't catch the fletching , they work good on self bows to.

Just cut the grip a tad deeper.

Or if it shoots good let it alone.

Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Go buy her more Hydrangea flowers to plant.

Then head to the shop and cut the grip deeper:)

I normally glue a small piece of toothpick on the shelf perpendicular to the arrow (and in line with the deepest part of the handle like Max suggest) and then place the rest on top of that.  It gives you a nice apex and puts less of the arrow in contact with the rest.  But from the looks of it you may already have a high spot sanded into your shelf.
Life is too short to use marginal bow wood
