This is a sneak preview of what I'm making to go on the raffle table at the Tenn. Classic. Each year I try to make something special to help Pappy and the Twin Oaks guys with the cost of putting on such a great shoot.
This is still a work in progress but here is a little hint of what my offering will be. This is paper mache, an old Native flintknapper passing on the tradition to a young brave. When it is all complete I'll post the finished piece.

If you're going to the Classic and are making something for the raffle table, feel free to post pics here.

Life is too short to use marginal bow wood

It's been a fun winter project. The bow is a hickory Eastern Woodland style with side nocks, the quiver is canoe birch bark, the arrows are hill cane as is the atlatl and darts.
Once I get it all set up it should be pretty cool.

Well, I've got my Tenn. Classic raffle table offering almost finished. I still need to make a few finishing touches but here it is...

Skeater who?

A little info about their stuff...the bow is an Eastern Woodland style hickory bow with twisted sinew string and single side nocks, quiver is birch bark, arrows are hill cane with real feathers, atlatl is hill cane, darts are hill cane with real feathers. The rock they are knapping, the rock pile and the chips at his feet are real artifact chips and the ground cover is creek sand and gravel.

That's awesome Pat! I don't see any scalps though.   :scared:
Life is to short to pass up anything that could potentially be bow wood!

Pat B

They have to make their scalpin' knives first.    ;)

I gotcha ya. The attention to detail you put into that is really nice. You could almost sit down and join in.

John, this is an Eastern Woodland archer I donated to the Classic 2 years ago...
