I'm teaching a beginners bow building class and want to keep the students cost down. What's an inexpensive way to provide some scrapers? I can cut metal and grind a bevel edge.

My dad showed me many years ago how to cut scrapers of any shape you need from an old, worn out handsaw. Back then we did it the hard way to avoid heating the metal, but now a dremel will do the job pretty quickly. Some of our best scrapers came from old saws.

A pair of cheap scissors will make 2 very good scrapers by removing the rivet. You can probably them for $1 from a Dollar Store.
Old circular saw blades or wide bandsaw blades make good scrapers too.

Thanks Pat, I learned something new today.  So did Roy, even though he acts like he already knew that.

Paint scrapers work well also.
