Clint, can you see that snake in the bark very well before you cut it?
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Sorry to see your bow blow Bue , Clint I realy like your spliting stand , back saver ''  that log definitely has some character !
If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!

I seen it in the first picture, Kenny.

I'd have never cut that tree...

  :wavey:

That does look like some snakey bows are in there...jeesh.
Good luck Bud.

I've got to clean up some boogers and see what the heck happened under all that glue and plastic..

Nice Zradix.  Got some deflex on that one!  Hope it works out.

Yeah...trying for a little more of a forward handle/grip by gluing a thick "powerlam" or whatever under the back.
This way I'm thinking I can dish out the grip darn near to the belly lam.
Not sure if I put quite enough reflex in the tips...we'll see.
I was afraid that moving the grip an inch or so forward on a bow with too curvy of limbs would leave the string laying on the limbs at a 6-7" brace.
I did put a little flip in the tips..about 1.25" from flat.
..who knows...lol   :dunno:

Hope it works out for you, John..

Thanks Roy.

Thing that really steamed me is when I was mocking things up I noticed about 1/3 of my c-clamps were missing from the box of em I keep at work.
No one fessed up.
Didn't have $$$ in the budget for more...so here's to hoping..lol

I'm not an expert, but I think you have the right amount of reflex especially if this is the first of this design.  Look at the difference between the low in your deflex to the tips.  Anything more than that and you would be fighting with stringing it, and no telling what the tiller should look like.

Sometimes I can see it in the bark.  I didn't on this one though.  I have a tree that you can see the bark snakes back and forth all the way up.  I'm going to cut it one of these days.  It might be something special or it might be firewood.  It's on the property line and leaning the wrong way.  It's going to take some work to get it to fall where I want it.

That stand has definitely been a back saver.  My yard is sloped.  The poles are sunk in at ground level on the uphill side.  I can drag a log in front of them and then roll it to the end.  I can get the log to the perfect working height without lifting it.  It's very easy to roll them back and forth to walk the split down both sides of the log.

Cut some plywood for the trade bow form and fitted a riser to an RD.  Had to cut the glue joints out of the lams and re glue em cause none of them were fitted all the way together and were thin at the joints.

Don't know how I did that to all three      :(
