I'm getting close to finishing up the 4 kids bows for Christmas presents so now I'm starting planning for my first full size bow. I have some 1.5" .04 clear glass that I hope to use. I see most recurves are either 1.75 or 2" wide but I don't know why.. ? Assuming I can go a head with the glass that I have, what do I need to watch out for using 1.5" limbs? Plan is to have a 16" riser and 62" total length bow.

you start with 1-3/4 and after glue up you grind to 1-5/8 or so.
who's recurve are you going off of.
I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means

I'll be modeling the limb after a combination of some ILF limbs I have and my stalker wolverine.  Shooting for static tips with a nice narrow profile. I don't exactly have a template I'm following but that's part of the fun to me also.

Will the static tips help to stabilize the limb and risk of twisting since it will shrink the working part of the limb?
