Hello I'm building a new oven box and was wondering what if any improvements you guys would make to the Bingham design? Any Ideas are greatly appreciated.

Get some foil backed foam and insulate the interior of the box.  Mine would not hit temp without it.  It was being used outdoors in December.  Be sure to use a thermostat.

One thing I'm going to do with mine is incorporate an interior fan to keep the air moving and avoid hot spots.

Get a ranco Etc single stage temperature controller. It will maintain any reasonable temperature you program it to.  About $55 and the best thing I ever put on my hotbox.

I also installed a 4 hour timer switch on mine so I could set it and forget it.

Search for "hot box build along " and you will find a couple good threads for ideas.

I built mine to Bingham's specs twenty some odd years age only regrets is that it's too small for somethings and to large for other things.  I need to build another to use along with this one. Seems it's always something.

best improvement I ever made was building it oversize and insulating it--then hanging it on the wall--

I put castor wheels under mine and store it under my glue up bench. I also use a timer to shut it off. I drilled a hole thru the side and put a meat cooking thermometer in the box. I still use the 180 degree snap disc thermostat I got from Binghams. I should upgrade mine to a temp controller and add a little fan..

The best made plan won't get it made the way you planned.

fan, ceramic tile between bulbs and form, foil insulation, Ranco or Johnson Controls temp. controller, and timer.
I plan to put mine up on a bench. Door will swing down to slide form into and out of hotbox to workbench. Storage underneath.
