Here is an ASL just completed for my grandsons school buddy.  They will be hunting elk together around Durango this September.

69" NTN
1.5" at the fades
3/8" at the nocks
Riser is wenge, 18"
Grip is 2 1/8" deep
Grip is 3/4" wide before application of leather grip cover
Back veneers are Australian Walnut heartwood
Belly veneers are sapwood from the same tree
About 1/4" string follow
44# @28"

Very pleasant to draw, stack free to 31". I and the grand son both shot well with it right off.

The wenge is a difficult wood.  Was my first experience with it and it was an interesting learning opportunity.

Thanks for your kind words.  Was going to grind the tip overlays off but the kids talked me out of it.   :biglaugh:

Wow; Great work, very nice looking bow!
Stumpshooting; Slinging sticks with sticks toward the origin of the sticks.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

That's a beauty! Great job- hope he gets to stick an elk with it this fall.

nice selfbow look with the riser narrow
Awesome
I like       :)

Didn't realise our Aussie Walnut looked so nice ! Great job on the bow!

Mark, that narrow riser is going to become more common on my ASLs.  It's a natural for a Hill style of gripping the bow.  It helps prevent torquing.
Three of my personal bows will be hitting the grinder to be narrowed down.

Bob, I often wonder about the true identity of some of the woods out there.  I got the veneer from B&B Rare Woods. No

Well, I got an "I guess it's ok" from Ole Roy so it must be at least acceptable.   :biglaugh:

Looks great!  I like the narrow handle, too.
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.
