I would appreciate seeing your bow spraying racks or setups. I've been struggling trying to find a method that works satisfactorily. I've tried hanging by the upper nock but the bow wants to spin. just tried a horizontal setup but having trouble getting the belly of the bow this this setup. any suggestion or pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Same here. I just tried hanging it off a small loop screw under where the leather rest will be, but same thing it always wants to spin and wobble around.  Any ideas?

I never had problems when I was spraying bows with rattle can Spar Urethane, hung bow with string around bottom tip..but once I got a HVLP gun and compressor things got interesting quick. No problem with ILF TD limbs I made a limb hanger and use the 3/8" detent hole to hold the limbs, not perfect but works pretty good. For one piece longbows and recurves I have been putting string around tip then lightly clamping them by the bottom tip with a spring clamp to a long rubber coated screw hook from my spray room ceiling, then finishing the bottom tip last, the string is in case the bow pops loose from the spring clamp..it has happened.. Krystal CV dries in 25-30 minutes so it doesnt take long to be able to flip bow over.

I strip the wire from a couple of twist ties and wrap it tightly around the string groove in the tip overly.  But I'm still in rattle can mode.
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

Takefive, the first time I used a spray gun my bow spun arround and I had to quickly figure something out..that when I used a good spring clamp to hold bow to the big ceiling hook.. It works but there should be something better..

Personally I like the hanging method because I can spray the whole bow.
Make a smaller loop for hanging the bow, it should not spin very much or not at all.  Swap ends every 2 coats that way both string grooves get done. I'm still in rattle can mode as well.

Once you use a spray gun you'll see!
Before I decided to pay a professional spray shop to do my bows I used to tie them top and bottom nock to stop the movement.

For bows with leather handle wraps I just hold the bow in my left hand by the handle using a couple fingers.  I spray the entire bow this way.  I then balance the bow on top of a narrow acetone or denatured alcohol can where it is touching two small spots on the handle to dry.

For bows that don't have handle wraps I hold the bow in my left hand and do spray it one side at a time and let that side dry before moving to next side so as to not smudge the finish there.

Probably not the best way but I've never been accused of doing anything the best way.
