I hadn't built a bow in almost 2 years before this one.  This hiatus is partly due to burning up my Rigid edge sander and partly due to being burned by several pieces of bad, streaky glass.

Well now i have a new Grizzly edge sander and some much better glass so I was ready to get back after it.

I have a nephew graduating from high school and wanted to give him something more meaningful than a gift card.

His colors are green and gold (which isn't my favorite combo) so I went with green dyed quilted maple and Osage.  I used hard maple for the cores and a 6" tip wedge.
Total stack is.650 and .010"/" taper.
Just over 1" at fades and just over 3/8" at the nocks.

It is slim and trim coming out at 48@28 and 68".

I'm not big on the green either but I like the way you did it.  Did I read your lam taper right?

You did read the lam taper correct.  I have played around a lot with taper rates from .004"/" up to .0125"/".  I've settled in at .010 and .011 for most of my bows.  They shoot smooth and quick.  Little handshock and no stacking at my 29-30" draw...

SportHunter

That combo looks great, really like that bow.

GreyGoose

Nice-looking bow.  I may have to go green in the future.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Wolftrail

Nice job I'm sure he will like that.

Great bow.  Like those tips and overlays.  That grip looks just the way I like mine.  Lucky kid to have an uncle like you.

This is "Pork Mamba" dual shelf I made for a Texan.  Love that taper! This one 10 thou.

Overspined, do you have. Belly angle pic of that dual shelf?

I'm color blind, so I say it looks great!

Overspined

It was black glass. Trapped to belly, no pics.  Just took that one and shipped it.
