Got to admit it, I feel like what Kenny (I think it was him) said on another post, I'm not a big fan of green. But after getting a price on some black/white Ebony I decided it would have to wait until my pocket book felt better. I have plenty of black & brown bows, a couple with black back and brown belly, but no green. So this will be my first and in the running to be my ugliest! Lol. Maybe the hunk of Bublinga will help.

Another first; the core will be all boo. If that is a bad idea don't tell me know, I done got it glued up.

It's going to be Green...

I'm thinking white phenolic with Bublinga overlay and tips, it's not too late though for suggestions on that. That's all for now.

I love green glass and I think this is going to be a beaut! Dang now I want to build one with a green riser and green glass.

Thanks BenBow. Like you I am recovering from having surgery and this is my first smell of wood dust in a while. Just had a large cancerous tumor with kidney removed, recovering now and back in the shop.

Dang Carpdaddy I hate to hear you've gone through this crap too. But working on your bow will stimulate healing as well as improve your outlook. Praying that all cancer that was in you body is cursed and dead and your kidney is blessed and strong.

Thank you brother for the prayers. That's why I keep beating the odds and coming back when it looks like I won't, prayers!  Had a kidney transplant 15 years ago, and now one of my old kidneys removed, I have been blessed. And your right; starting a new bow is just the right therapy.

Made a string and got the bow strung...

Everything lining up nicely. Bow feels a little stout but more sanding to do. I can't draw it yet, doc said I needed at least six weeks before shooting again. That sure is hard to follow with a new bow needing drawn back!!

Her only concern has been the glue mixing consistency...

I have hated waiting to shoot mine. My wife caught me after a couple of arrows and I lost shop privileges for a day ;(
Looks like your QC dog thinks smoothon smells tasty.
