While looking for some other stuff I came upon this Acrylester.
I'm curious if anybody has tried it in bows.
I'd think it could make for some pretty lams in risers or tip overlays.
Maybe use it instead of horn?

There are pages and pages of the stuff...

I think its the same material I've been using. I get the pen blank cut offs at the Woodcraft store by me,cheap and plentyfull. Only used them on limb tips, they look cool and work quite well but they will crack if to thin and used by themselves. There's not alot of flex in them like phenolic or glass.

Interesting.
Thanks!

You use super glue or epoxy with em?

I think the ones I used gorrila glue on were the ones that cracked and that was after about 3 months later, but they were thin like 3/32. If you keep them at least a heavy 1/8 and use some smooth on you should be fine, once there smoothed and polished they look like a swirled 3d effect. I've been using them for a couple years now.

Hello,
I have used acrylic in 3 recurves, but just as Accents. It doesn't have enough strength for, say, strengthening risers. Sizewise, I doubt you'll find pieces large enough for limbs, biggest size seems to be 1.5" square by 5".
